What We're Reading: A Conversation with Dipesh Chakrabarty | Cultures of Energy symposium, session 3

Dipesh Chakrabarty, the Lawrence A. Kimpton Distinguished Service Professor of History, South Asian Languages and Civilizations, and the College at the University of Chicago and author of “The Climate of History in a Planetary Age,” participated in a conversation led by Joseph Campana, the Alan Dugald McKillop Professor of English at Rice University and director of the Center for Environmental Studies. The discussion was part of “Cultures of Energy: New Directions in Energy Humanities,” a May 27-28, 2021, symposium sponsored by the Center for Environmental Studies, with support from the Humanities Research Center in the School of Humanities.

Discussion participants also included Rice University’s Cymene Howe, professor of anthropology and Randal L. Hall, the William P. Hobby Professor of American History, both of whom are members of the Center for Environmental Studies faculty steering committee.
